copy to removable media slow in DLP

We are testing DLP 14.0.1 with endpoint agent version 14.0.1. Enabling 'copy to removable media' in the agent configuration causes the copy time to more than triple. I copied a compressed 2 gig file to a flash drive which completed in 25 minutes. The same file required only 7 minutes when I disabled 'copy to removable media' in the agent config.  Any ideas? We need to monitor such activity but had to disable 'copy to removable media' in our current production version due to complaints from the  users. We are currently running DLP 12.5.2 with endpoint agent 11.1. Any ideas?
