Network Prevent for Web and AD User Groups

$

I need a solution

Based on Symantec DLP Administration Guide page 616, we are not able to use synchronized DGM (based on AD) to implement identity matching. In other words, the User Groups configured in policy will not work for Web incidents due to the username being returned from ICAP proxy is WINNT://<domain>/<username> instead of just username (as far as I know, do correct me if I am wrong).

May I know what workaround I can do to overcome this limitation beside profiled DGM because some of the customers I know updates their AD frequently so I would like the changes to reflect on the Enforce as soon as possible.

Thanks in advanced.

Incidents cannot be viewed on Enforce

I need a solution

Hi All,

The issue we are facing is related to the Symantec DLP Network Discover/Protect Module. (Version 15.5)

We run a scan on Windows File Share that is shown as successfull and the incidents count is also shown. In the Overview->Servers we are also shown that incidents were generated against the DLP Network DIscover/Protect Server.

However, when we go to Incidents->Discover and select even All Incidents there are no incidents shown.

Following steps have been performed,

1. Restarting the Enforce Server

2. Restarting the DLP Network Discover/Protect Server services

However still we cannot view the incidents generated from the DLP Network Discover/Protect module whereas the incidents generated from the Endpoint Module are able to be viewed.

If anyone has faced this issue or has some suggestion to give that would be much appreciated. (Attached are screenshots that also show part of log file contents possibly related to this issue)

Kind regards

Moving incidents attachments to external storage 15.0

I need a solution

We are currently running 15.0 -network Monitors- network discover and Endpoint.

Is it only possible to direct incident attachments to external storage during an upgrade or can this be done at any time, and if so how is this accomplished?

I read an old article referencing version 14 and a path in a preference file but most other information I can find talks about doing this through the upgrade wizard....

If and when it is done this will only effect any incidents going forward and not attachements already in the DB.?

Once this is done is there a way to revert back if needed to have storage of attachments back to DB?

We are looking to upgrade to 15.5 soon but I am looking to see if its possible to direct the attachments to external storage (possible a different drive on the enforce server) before this occurs to see if we are happy with performace.

Thank you

Jennifer

Questions about deploy a several endpoint server

I need a solution

Dear,

At the moment my dlp infrastruture is a three tier deployment with one endpoint server for aprox. 3000 computer divide in a local site and several branch office.

Each bandwidth of this branch office is 4 megas , and the the local site has a bandwidth of 20 megas.

The local site has aprox, a 1800 computer and the each branch office has aprox 40 computer.

The endpoint server have 20 policy using a IDM, keywords and regular expressions

My idea is take a endpoind server for each branch office or agroup several branch office for on one endpoint server

And my questions about are

Its possibe to use a server with a role of file server for a endpoint server

For 40 computer how is the hardware necessary for a deloy a endpoint server

I have to create one agent package for endpoint server

Its possible later via enforce change some computer to other endpoint server in case this is shoutdown

The last year the bandwith has present a saturation and shoutdown the enpoint server and i like the prevent this episode again using a local endpoint for the process of all the policy and later only send the result to the enforce server

Install DLP Agent with SCCM

I need a solution

High all,

I have a question please, in our society we want to include the installation agent in the image ISO Windows, this will help us because when we install the windows image in a computer, so automatically the DLP agent will be installed. Is it possible to do it with SCCM ?

SCCM agent use msi package, but our msi DLP agent needs others fields like : endpoint_cert.pem, endpoint_priv.pem, endpoint_truststore.pem

So how we can do that with SCCM ? for now i didn't find how to include these files to the msi with SCCM.

Best regards

Goolge Chrome Extension High CPU

I need a solution

Hi All,

I administer a fleet of virtual desktops that have the DLP Agent version 15.0.0100.01063 installed. We have noticed that on many the virtual desktops that have chrome installed a process brkrprcs64.exe is running. This appears to be the Symantec DLP Chrome extension. On the virtual desktops the process is consuming between 11 and 40% CPU in a single process or it may have multiple instances of brkrprcs64.exe running, having a combined CPU usage of approximately 60-->70%.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on why this process is consuming so much CPU and is there a fix for it?

Environment info:

The virtual desktops are built on a VMware Horizon platform version 7.5.1

Virtual Desktop OS is Windows 8.1

DLP Agent version 15.0.0100.01063

TIA

I need a solution

Need to know if SYMC DLP is able to support macOS Mojave 10.14 with Office versions 16.21 with  System Integrity Protection enabled.

Can we still see Send Mail events from Outlook? Will the event include sender, recipient, subject like normal?

Can we still see File Print and Copy/Paste from any Office app for example Word?
