Encrypting USB via SEE thorough DLP Policy

Hello,

My objective is to achieve USB encryption via Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11.2 through DLP policy. I know the preferred way is to utilise Endpoint Flex Response Utility to install Flex response plug-in in endpoint machines. Our all endpoint machines have flexrespone plug-in by default.

Just for the research, is it necessary to use flex response utility to install the plugin, can't it be done just specifying the plug-in name in the response rules of a policy and making some changes in SEE?.

Has anyone perfomed  removable storage encryption through SEE using difererent method ivia DLP policy?

Please help.
